Edmund Clifford "Tip" Gerard, a former resident of Crawfordsville died at his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening from a heart seizure. He had been in failing health for several months. He would have been 58 on January 23. The youngest of four sons of the former Dr. Royal H. Gerard, one time president of Ben-Hur Life Association and Mrs. Mary B. Harding of Inglewood, Califronia he spent his early years in Crawfordsville. He was graduated from CHS In 1930 and attended Indiana University. "Tip" moved to California soon after his service in the army during WWII and at one time lived in the San Francisco bay area. He was engaged in newspaper and newspaper advertising work. Mr. Gerard is survied by his wife, Kathryn; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Emily Burnett of Los Angeles; a stepson Chauncey S. Gerard of Denver, Colorado and 7 grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Bryson H. Gerard of Temple City, Calif; Bruce Broaddus Gerard of San Francisco and Dave Gerard of Crawfordsville and the mother.
