CARMEL – Billy L. Gephart, 40, whose brother, James, is a funeral director in Ladoga, died here about 7 a.m. Wednesday. He had lived in Carmel for the past eight years and previously resided in Indianapolis, where he worked for 15 years for the P. W. Jackson Co. He was a member of the Carmel Friends Church and was active in the Dads’ Club at Carmel High School. He also was a Navy veteran of World War II. Other survivors include the widow, Peggy; the mother, Mrs. Nellie Gephart of Pittsboro, and the father, Ernest L., of Indianapolis; four children, Cathy, Jeffrey, Michael and Jay Scott, and two sisters, Mrs. John Feeney and Mrs. Ned Kurtz, both of Brownsburg. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Friends Church. Burial will be in the Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home in Carmel after 2 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
