Frank D. Garvey, 76, resident of this county most of his life, died at 12:35 p.m. Monday at the 10th Street Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a patient 30 hours. He had been in failing health for two years. Garvey for many years was manager of the Wake-up Service Station on West Market Street. Prior to that, he had been employed at other service stations in the city. Born May 16, 1886, at Yountsville, he was the son of John and Jane McCoy Garvey. He was married in January 1918 to Ruby Harris of Crawfordsville. She preceded him in death. Garvey was in the infantry in the US Army during WWI and was a member of American Legion. He attended schools at Linden and was a member of the First Christian Church in Crawfordsville. The survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Booker of Crawfordsville with whom he lived, Mrs. Ruby Johnson of New Ross; a brother Homer Garvey of Hammond and number of nieces and nephe ws. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Powers Funeral Home with burial in Lutheran Cemetery east of Darlington. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday
