Garrigus - Estella Titus

Mrs. Estella May Garrigus, 95, died suddenly Monday afternoon at her home, 1007 Grace Ave. She was born east of Alamo on Dec. 26, 1873, a daughter of Sam Jasper and Julia Hole Titus. She was reared in that community and graduated from Alamo High School. She married William Best Garrigus on Dec. 29, 1903, and they lived here for a time, then in Illinois and at Indianapolis. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Garrigus had resided in Crawfordsville the last 12 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Surviving are a son, Byron Garrigus of Plainfield; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Titus of Crawfordsville, and three grandsons. Two sons, Darrell and Kenneth, and three brothers and three sisters are deceased. Funeral rites are at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Howard F. Miller officiating, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. - jlr
