Miss Mary I. GARLAND, 94, died at 4:55 a.m. Saturday June 20, 1965 at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville where she had been a patient for six days. She had been in failing health for six weeks. Miss Garland had spent all of her life in the Waveland-Russellville area and in Texas where she moved with her family when she was a young woman. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Beaumont, TX and had been a member of the Russellville Eastern Star for more than 50 years. Born June 18, 1871, in Parke County she was the daughter of Calvin and Mary Deere Garland; she never married. Survivors include two nephews, Lee Garland of New Market and Dr. Loyd Garland of Macon GA and two nieces, Mrs. Bernard Clore of Waveland and Miss Esther Garland of Idaho Falls, Idaho.. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, Waveland with Rev. John Servies officiating. Following the services here the remains were sent to Beaumont where rites were conducted at the Carroll-Wallace Funeral Home Wednesday with Rev. Davis Worth Roberts in charge. Burial in Beaumont Magnolia Cemetery. - kbz
