Miss Frances Garland one of the oldest residents of Montgomery county died Friday night (June 28, 1929) at the home of her niece, Mrs. OC Watson, 1111 W. Main Street after having been in failing health for the past three years. Miss Garland's death occurred at 11:30 o'clock and was caused by a complication of diseases. The deceased was born in Hamilton County, Ohio, June 10, 1837 coming to Montgomery County and taking up her residence with her parents near Waynetown. She had spent most of her life in the Waynetown community coming to this city to live with her niece a few years ago. Those surviving are one sister, Mrs. Anna Price of Newton, Illinois and one brother, Charles Garland of Waynetown. The funeral services will be held at the home of Mrs. Watson Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. WH Newlin in charge and assisted by the Rev. AL Miller of the Trinity Methodist Church. Burial will be made at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. A short service will be held at the grave for the friends who are unable to attend the service here. - kbz
