James Milton GARDNER, 73, local hardware dealer (Russellville) died at his home here Saturday morning at 6:30 o´clock following an illness of a year. Death was due to heart trouble. The deceased was born Oct 19, 1858 near Russellville the son of John and Lucinda Gardner. He was married June 26, 1890 to Mary B. Fordice. One daughter, Madge was born to them but she died at age 16. For a number of years Mr. Gardner was a school teacher but for the past quarter of a century he had been in the hardware business here. He was a member of the Federated Church. The survivors include the wife, two brothers, WF Gardner of this place and Edward of Frankfort and 3 sisters, Miss Margaret Gardner, Berkeley, Cal and Misses Anna and Byrle Gardner of this place. The funeral services will beheld at the home here Monday afternoon at 2:30 oclock in charge of the Rev. Harrick L. Todd of Indianapolis. Burial will take place in the Cemetery here - typed by kbz.
