The funeral of the late James Galloway who died in an automobile Friday afternoon while returning from the Boone County fair at Lebanon occurred yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. So large was the crowd of friends that gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased that many of them could not get in the house. Rev. Doherty of South Bend conducted the services and was assisted by Rev. CB Stanforth, pastor of Trinity Church of this city. Rock of Ages, Going Down the Valley and Remember Me were sung during the services by a quartet composed of George Shanklin, William Shanklin, Ernest Stout and JJ Messmore. The pallbearers were all nephews of Mr. Galloway: Hugh, William and John Swearingen; Elmer Steel and Charles Keys. Among the floral offerings was a Masonic design presented by the county officials. Mr. Galloway was a member of the county council for 12 years. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
