NEWTOWN — Albert W. Galloway, 75, a former businessman here, died Monday morning in a Bradenton, Fla., nursing home. Mr. Galloway built the Newtown Garage, which he later sold to his brother, A. T. He and his wife, Curra, operated the Newtown drugstore until retiring in 1960. He was employed by the National Refining Co., for 25 years. He was a trombone player in the Newtown Band and also played with the National Car Couplers' Band. He was born near Covington Aug. 10, 1891, a son of John A. and India Ward Galloway. His first marriage was to Ethel Lape. After her death he was married to Katheryn Druley. She also preceded him in death. On March 5, 1949, he was married to Curra E. Fry in Newtown. Mr. Galloway was a resident of Newtown 37 years. He was a member of the Newtown Methodist Church. He moved to Bradenton in August of 1966. Surviving are the widow; a son, Lowell of Attica; a stepson, Clifford Fry of Attica; a sister, Mrs. Orville Meeker of Frankfort; three brothers, O. K. of Crawfordsville, Jack of Veedersburg and A. T. of Newtown and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Arthur Schenck officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.  --typed by Walt W

Newtown – Albert W. Galloway, 75, formerly of Newtown died Monday at Bradenton, Florida where he and his wife had lived since August 1966.  He was stricken with a heart attack several months ago.  Born in the Osborn Prairie Community, he spent most of his life there and in the Attica and Newtown communities.  He built the Newtown garage which he sold later to a brother, AT Galloway after which he was employed by the National Refining Co for 25 years.  Mr. Galloway was a well known musician and formerly played the trombone in the famous Newtown Band.  He was a charter member of the Newtown Drug store until their retirement a few years.  He was a member of the Newtown Methodist Church.  Surviving with the widow are a son, Lowell of Attica; a stepson, Clifford Fry of Attica; a sister, Mrs. Barka Meeker of Frankfort and three brothers, AT Galloway of Newtown.
