Idelle M. Gallaher, 88, a resident of the Durham Home for the past 13 years, died at 3;15 a.m. today at Ben Hur Nursing Home. She served as Mellott postmaster for 25 years, retiring in 1967. Her memberships included First United Methodist Church and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was educated in Danville, Ill., schools. She was born Feb. 15, 1902 at Danville, to Henry B. and Martha Leach Trueman. She first married John Peevler, who preceded her in death. Her second husband Ferman Gallaher, also is deceased. Survivors include a daughter Mrs.Paul (Rosena) Vershek of Homewood, Ill.; a brother, Dewey Trueman of Marion; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A son, Robert Peevler and 11 brothers and sisters also are deceased. Services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday in Hunt and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence Richert officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
