Sarah Margaret Galey was born September 26, 1835 in Montgomery County, Ind., seven miles southwest of Crawfordsville. She was married to Wm B. Galey September 25, 1851. To them were born two children, one dying in infancy. She united with the Freedom Baptist Church Nov. 1868. She afterwards went into the organization of the Salem Baptist Church. In after years she removed her membership to the New Market Baptist Church, in which she lived a faithful, earnest, loving Christian lady, always ready to do what she could for the cause of her Master whom she dearly loved. She was a great sufferer, but bore it with a Christian fortitude, never complaining. She often referred to certain passages of scripture which was a great blessing to her in her last hours. She said tell all of her friends and neighbors farewell; she was going home and for them to meet her in Heaven. Truly a good woman has fallen.
She leaves a kind husband and one son, and his wife with one grandson, one brother and four sisters with many relatives and kind neighbors to mourn her loss, but our loss is her eternal gain. She fell asleep in Jesus. The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Her age was 64 years, 6 months and 7 days. - thanks muches "S" for this addition
