The funeral of Sanford Galey will be conducted at 10 a.m. Sunday at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Lucy Schleppy, on East Wabash Avenue. His death was quite a shock to the family and friends. He had been sick a few days and, although his condition became serious Thursday night, it was thought by friends and physicians that he would recover. Yesterday morning his trouble was complicated by heart failure, from which he grew rapidly worse until relieved by death at 10 o'clock in the forenoon. He was 48 years of age and was born and raised in this county. He was a guard at the Michigan City penitentiary for several years but for the past few had been employed in the Cloverlead offices at Frankfort. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Frankfort Brethren will accompany the remains here tomorrow - kbz

Frankfort Times: The friends of Sant Galey were surprised yesterday at the announcement of his death. He has been sick for a few days and, although his condition became serious Thursday night, it was thought by friends and physician that he would recover. Yesterday morning his trouble was complicated by heart failure, from which he grew rapidly worse until relieved by death at 10 o’clock in the forenoon. He was forty eight years of age and was born in Montgomery County. Several years ago he came here from Crawfordsville, and for a year or so has been a clerk in the Clover Leaf offices. A wife and one child survive him. He was a member of the Moose order, which held a meeting last night and arranged to march in a body from the hall at 2:30 this afternoon, to the residence in West Clinton Street to escort the body to the Vandalia for shipment to Crawfordsville, where the funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock Sunday morning at the home of his mother. -s
