Galey - Samuel
SAMUEL GALEY
Source: Crawfordsville Weekly Journal 12 March 1857
Died in Jasper County, Indiana on the 16th day of February 1857, Samuel Galey in the 47th year of his age. Mr. Galey was a native of Kentucky, moved to this county when quite young, remained here as a farmer for many years and then removed to Jasper County where he died. For several years past Mr. Galey had suffered from several severe attacks of illness, which he bore with christian fortitude and a calm resignation to the will of his father in Heaven. In all his suffering, in all the trials of life, he manifested a christian spirit and was cheered with the christian hope. The happy thought that the afflictions of this world, which are but for a moment would work out for him a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, seemed ever present to his mind. Having life a life of faith, he died the death of the righteous; and wife, children and friends, while they mourn the loss of an affectionate husband, a kind father and devoted friend, rejoice in the hope that he has gone to a blessed home, eternal and on high.
Died, in Jasper County on the 20th of February 1857, Henry Smith Galey, infant son of Samuel and Margaret C. Galey.
