Beal V. Galey died at 7:30 o'clock Monday evening at his home, 610 E. Main Street after an illness of several months. He was one of the oldest residents of the city, having passed his 84th birthday. He was a prominent dentist in the city up to 20 years ago when he gave up his profession to become identified with work in connection with the Tribe of Ben Hur. He was born Dec 14, 1833 and had lived practically all his life in Crawfordsville. He was the son of William and Lucy Wilhite Galey and in 1862 married Elizabeth Lee. He was the father of 3 children one of which, Mrs. Mabel G. Snyder survives him. He also leaves a wife and six grandchildren. During his long and active life he won the respect of the entire community and was noted for his devotion to his family. - kbz
