Rites were held at the Christian Church (Wallace) Saturday afternoon for Charles GAINES who died at his home one mile south of here Thursday. Rev. Carothers was in charge of the services, Mrs. Anderson of Marshall sang Old Rugged Cross; Sunset and At the End of a Perfect Day. Pallbearers were John Thomas; Herman Collins; Arthur Miller; Kenneth Gooding; Dan Fox; Marmaduke Cowan; William Ireland and Otis Alward. - kbz

Wallace, June 23 - Charles T. Gaines, 64, died at his home south of Hillsboro at 9:25 o'clock Thursday morning after an d8-week illness. Mr. Gaines was born Feb 28, 1885 in Perry County Missouri the son of James Gaines and Kate Gaines. He was married in 1924 to Zula Gooding. Mr. Gaines had been a farmer in the Wallace community. The widow survives, together with two brothers, George Gains of Hillsboro and Walter Gaines of Wayne City, Ill; and one sister, Mrs. Albert Weddle of Cisco, Ill. Funeral services will be conducted a the Wallace Christian Church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. James Carothers. - kbz
