Rev. S.K. Fuson, age 85, well known Baptist minister, died at his home Tuesday evening at 5 o'clock after an illness of many months. He was born in Crawford County, Ill Feb 28, 1842. In 1858 at that place he joined the Baptist Church; in 1863, he began preaching and was in active service 50 years. He enlisted in Co E, 98th Ill, Wilder Brigade of mounted infantry Aug 13, 1862 and served during the war. It is said that he was preached more funerals and married more couples than any man in Parke Co. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Rev R.A. Fuson of Brownsburg and A.H. Fuson of Springfield, Mo; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Bishop of Colorado Springs, Col. and Mrs. Alice Dethrow of Springfield, Mo. Funeral services will be held at the Church at 2 o'clock this afternoon Rev. Wheeler of Robinson, Ill; officiating, assisted by Rev.J.M. Newsom. - kbz
