Waveland July 10 - Winter Fullenwider, a pioneer of this city and one of the most prominent men in this community died in a Terre Haute hospital Monday evening following an operation on Saturday that necessitated the amputation of a leg. Mr. Fullenwider had been in poor health six months. Mr. Fullenwider was born on a farm near Waveland on November 6, 1853. He was the son of David and Latricia Fullenwider, two of the earlier settlers in this community. On November 25, 1896 he was married to Birdie Wright of near here. In addition to the widow who is an invalid, the deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Owen Dooley who lives on a farm near Waveland, one grandson and one brother, Irving Fullenwider of Indianapolis. Seven nephews and 11 nieces also mourn his death. Funeral services will be held at the home of Mrs. Dooley at 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon. The Dooleys live on the old Oldshue farm. Burial will take place at Waveland. Mr. Fullenwider was a prominent member of the Waveland Presbyterian Church serving as an elder. - kbz

Samuel Winter Fullenwider died in Union Hospital at Terre Haute on Monday evening about half past seven, following the amputation of his left leg on Saturday. Funeral services were held at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Owen Dooley, on Wed. afternoon, in charge of Rev. H. Hugo, of Oxford, assisted by Rev. Geo. A. Hill of Crawfordsville. Burial at the Presbyterian Cemetery.

The following Biography was read: "Samuel Winter Fullenwider was born Nov 2, 1853 and passed away July 9 at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 7 days. He was the son of David and Elizabeth Moxley Fullenwider. He spent his childhood in this vicinity. In early childhood he united with the Presbyterian Church at Waveland. He became an elder and was most faithful in the capacity. He was united in holy wedlock to Miss Mary Elizabeth Rice Nov. 25, 1896. To this union were born two daughters: Elizabeth Rice and and Mary Emma Dooley. Although he had not enjoyed the best of health for the past six months, he was always most cheerful." - kbz
