Mrs. Winter Fullenwider, who has been an invalid for many years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Owen Dooley, on Sunday morning. Funeral services at the Presbyterian Church on Tuesday afternoon were in charge of Rev. h. Ray Sigler. Bur. in Presbyterian cem. The pallbearers were John Oldshue; Dr. Kleiser; Will Durham; Harry Crutchfield; Earl McNutt and Charles taylor. The flowers were carried by Mrs. JM Milligan; Mrs. Ernest White and Misses Mary Milligan and Clara Mae Oldshue. The following obituary was read: Mary Elizabeth Fullenwider, the second daughter of James M. Rice and Ellen Demaree Rice, was born Feb 22, 1859, near Waveland. Her education began at #5, a country school of the community and was finished at Waveland Academy. She taught school for a number of years in the vicinity of Waveland and Guion. She was a life long and devoted member of the Waveland Presbyterian Church answering the call to service wherever needed as long as health permitted. She was united in marriage to SW Fullenwider Nov 25, 1896, who preceded her in death July 9, 1928 in the Union Hospital at Terre Haute, after long years of failing health. To this union were born two daughters, Mary Elizabeth, b. April 20, 1898, who died in infancy and Mary Emma Dooley (note: Mary Emma lived to be over 100 years old and died about a year ago -- 2000, I think and was a very lovely and knowledgeable lady- KZ). Birdie, as she was known, was loved by all who knew her. She was in declining health for 19 years, being a total invalid for 11 years. During her last years of sickness, she was cared for at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, M/M Owen Dooley, near Waveland. All that loving hands could do was done by them. They gave her constant and untiring attention, but God saw best to call her home in the early morning of May 4. She leaves to mourn her going one brother, Harrison of Los Angeles, Calif; one daughter, Mrs. Owen Dooley, one grandson, James Warren Dooley, anumber of nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Those preceding her in death were Susan Dooley of Rockville; Charles of Crawfordsville; Albert of Washington and Thomas of Calif. Birdie was never known to mumur in all her years of suffering and always aided others who were grieved by the loss of loved ones to look to higher power and live for the living. Those present from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stevenson of Rockville; Mrs. J Shannon Nave and Mrs. Johnson of Attica; George Davis and Miss Mary Davis of Terre Haute; Alexander Rice and Miss Rena Rice of Lafayette; M/M Irving Fullenwider, Misses Elizabeth and Eleanor Jane; Mrs. WP Crocket and June, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fullenwider of Indianapolis; Leland Asbury, Mrs. Phronie Dooley, Mrs. Frank Adams; Mrs. Roy Lough; Clifford Dooley; SS Dooley; Mr. and Mrs.  Thomas Truman of Marshall; Mr. and Mrs. UG Vail of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Clarence Fine of Wallace. - kbz
