Waynetown, May 25 - James Hall Fugate, 84, retired railroad worker, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Watt, of this place Monday morning at 6 o'clock. A resident of Waynetown for a half-century, Mr. Fugate had been ill for 8 months as the result of a stroke. He was born Jan 24, 1858 in Ohio, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Fugate and Dec 8, 1881, was married to Flora Belle Copner of Yountsville. For many years he was a railroad section foreman. His wife died Feb 9, 1937, and 3 children preceded him in death. He is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Watt at whose home he died; Mrs. Mae Cope of New Castle; and Mrs. David Harper of Marion; and one son, Carl Fugate of Indianapolis; 20 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Watt home from Tuesday morning until Wednesday at noon. The funeral will be held at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Grenard Funeral Home in charge of Rev. Guy E. Tremaine. Burial in Masonic Cemetery.
