Bert Fryer, 85, longtime resident of Crawfordsville and a painting contractor in Montgomery County until his retirement, died at 8 a.m. Friday in the Sunny Pines Nursing Home at Rockledge, Fla. He had been ill for two months. He had moved to Florida from 509 E. Market St. in Crawfordsville five years ago. Born March 3, 1881, in Indiana, he was the son of George and Minerva Esra Fryer. He was married to Emma Foreman. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Crawfordsville and the Bainbridge Masonic Lodge 75. Survivors include the widow, Emma, and a nephew, Harry K. Lee of Rockledge. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home here. Rev. John Servies will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Tuesday.--waw
