MICHAEL YEAGLE FRUITS

Source: Crawfordsville Daily Journal 12 April 1912 p 5

Michael Fruits, an aged resident of Alamo, and for many years a well known resident of Ripley township, died at the home of his son, Otis Fruits, Thursday afternoon at 6 o'clock. The deceased has been ill for the last four weeks and his death comes as no surprise to the members of the family. Mr. Fruits has lived in Ripley township practically all his life. His wife, Mrs. Fruits, has been dead for some time. There were six sons in the family and four of the boys survive their father. One son, James, met a very tragic death in a saw mill explosion many years ago. The four sons that are still living are Howard, who lives north of the city , and Otis, Samuel, and Hadley Fruits who reside in Alamo. The funeral services will be at Alamo Sunday morning at 10 o'clock and the interment will take place at the Yountsvillle cemetery. Rev. J. H. Elder of Crawfordsville will officiate. Mr. Fruits was a member of the Masons, and that body will have charge of the services. James Fruits, a son, met a tragic death many years ago, when the boiler of the Fruits saw mill exploded, scalding him so badly that he soon died.
