Alamo – Lonnie Fruits, 80, retired farmer, died Tuesday in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville where he had been a patient three weeks. A native of Montgomery County, he married Bird Smith in 1903 at Crawfordsville. After serving in the Spanish-American War he returned to this community and farmed in Ripley County until retiring in 1932. At that time he moved to Alamo. He was a member of Ridge Farm Church until disbanded then became a member of Alamo Christian Church. Surviving are the widow; a brother John of Alamo and half brother, Charles Day of Henrietta, Mo.
