Waynetown, Oct 19 - Mrs. Jerusha Ann Fruits, 80, widow of the late Ambrose Fruits died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William A. Brown in Kokomo, Saturday monring at 10:30. Death was due to chronic nephritis and followed an extended illness. The deceased who was a life long resident of Wayne Twp was born near Waynetown Aug 12, 1850, daughter of James and Hannah Barnett Hoff. She was united in marriage on Aug 17, 1871 to Ambrose Fruits whose death occurred last March. Mrs. Fruits was a member of the Christian Union Church southeast of Waynetown. The survivors are 3 daughters, Mrs. Brown at whose home she died, Mrs. Perry A. Brannan of Linden and Mrs. AD Harpel of near Shanondale. Five grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. The remains were brought to the home of Mrs. Harpel near Shannondale. Funeral services will be conducted at the Christian Union Church SW of here Tuesday morning at 10:30 with Rev. McMullen in charge. Burial will take place in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. -- kbz

Jerusha Ann Fruits, daughter of James and Hannah Barnett Hoff, was born on a farm near Waynetown Indiana Aug 12, 1850 and departed this life October 18, 1930, aged 80 years 2 months 6 days, Here she grew to womanhood and on Aug 17, 1871, she united in marriage to Ambrose Fruits and to this union three daughters were born:  Mrs. AD Haysel of near Crawfordsville, Ind; Mrs. Perry Brannon of Linden and Mrs. William A. Brown of Kokomo, Ind. She leaves to mourn her passing the three daughters, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a number of other relatives. She had been a member of the Christian Union Church for a number of years. Less than a year ago her husband passed away and since that time she had made her home with her daughters. She had been in declining health for a number of years and seriously ill for the last  two months while all was done to prolong this noble life that human hands and medical skill could do but it was without avail for in the morning hours Oct 18, 1930, she passed to her reward at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William A. Brown in Kokomo, after which she was removed to another daughter’s home, Mrs. AD Harpel of near Crawfordsville, Ind to await the funeral services. She had lived a long life and has left a good impression upon those who have known her these many years. She has gone unto her reward; may peace be unto her departed soul. - kbz
