James W. Fruits Waynetown - James W. Fruits, 87, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday in Culver Union Hospital. He had resided in the Ben Hur Nursing Home since 1975, formerly living at Waynetown. Mr. Fruits was born May 24, 1896, near Alamo, a son of Howard and Alice Stonebraker Fruits. He attended Alamo rural schools. He was married on November 4, 1916, to Gertrude L. Fruits. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1977. Surviving are a son, Edmund of North Smyrna Beach, Florida; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Elizabeth Waye of Bradenton, Florida; five grandchildren: and 12 great grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown, with the Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Crawfordsville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Saturday.
