Waynetown – Earl Fruits, 72, retired farmer and previously credit manager 25 years for the CC Hicks Furniture Store in Indianapolis. He died of a heart attack while mowing his lawn. Rites today.

Waynetown - Earl Fruits, 72. a retired businessman and farmer died suddenly Monday at 3:30 p.m. shortly after beginning to mow his yard. He had mowed a couple of strips and then his wife replaced him for a spell. Mr. Fruits sat down to rest and then expired of a heart atack. He had been in failing health for a year. Born in Montgomery County on Oct 14, 1882, he was the son of Albert and Mary Fruits. On Aug 21, 1911, he married Merle Oliver. He was a member of the Alamo Christian Church, of the Waynetown masonic Lodge and he attended Waynetown schools. Surviving include the widow and a nephew, Robert Dwain Ellis of Danville, Ill. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. CDT at Grenard & Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown masonic Cemetery. Survivors include the widow and a nephew. Funeral service was held at Grenard & Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown Wednesday afternoon with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown – kbz
