Waynetown, March 2 - Ambrose FRUITS, 81, well known resident of this place died suddenly at his home south of here Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Although he had been in failing health for some time, he was not considered seriously ill. Heart trouble caused his death. The deceased was born near Waynetown on Feb 27, 1848, the son of George and Lizzie Harlow Fruits. He was married on August 17, 1871 to Jerusha Ann Moss. (sic). He was a member of the Christian Union Church and of Odd Fellows' lodge. He spent his entire life in Montgomery County. The widow, 3 daughters, Mrs. AD Harpel of near Crawfordsville; Mrs. Bertha Brannon of Linden and Mrs. Will Brown of Kokomo; one brother, George of Indianapolis, one half brother, Bert and one half -sister, Serentha of North Judson'; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren survive. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the home of Rev. McMullen of Indianapolis in charge. Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - kbz

Rev. VE Fruits received a message telling of the death of his uncle, Ambrose Fruits at Waynetown. This is the second sudden death in the Fruits family in less than a week. Rev. Fruits’ father, Jonathan Fruits, died suddenly at the parsonage here last week.  His funeral was held last Friday at Crawfordsville. The uncle, Ambrose Fruits was in his usual health and attended the funeral and passed away at his home at Waynetown Saturday. Rev. and Mrs. VE Fruits and daughter, Thelma, attended his funeral at Waynetown Tuesday.  - kbz

Linden, Ind March 13 – Mr. and Mrs. Perry Brannon were called to Waynetown by the sudden death of the latter’s father, Ambrose Fruits.
