WINGATE — Russell Fritts, 67, died at 6 p.m. Thursday at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient since March 13. He was born April 27, 1900, the son of John and Corilla Ann Rankin Fritts. He attended school in Wingate and lived his entire life in that community. He was married to Arlene Buss in 1947. Mr. Fritts was employed on the Lawrence McKinney farm. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church. He is survived by two sons, Edward L. of Ft. Bliss, Tex., who has just finished a 19-month tour of duty in Vietnam, and Donald Eugene of Wingate; four sisters, Mrs. Ica Bodkins and Mrs. Florence Hamilton of Lafayette, Mrs. Mildred Rodenbeck of Spencer and Mrs. Donald Cripe of Indianapolis, and one brother, James of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown. Rev. George Phelps of the Hopewell Baptist Church at Newtown will officiate. Burial will be at the Greenlawn Cemetery at Wingate. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
