Mrs. Harold E. Frey, the former Mamie Edna Banta, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday at Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis. She had been a patient there for one day. Mrs. Frey, who lived on Overcoat Road near Crawfordsville, was 49. She was the daughter of Thomas and Lydia Harrison Banta, and was born in Tippecanoe County near New Richmond on June 13, 1913. She graduated from Jackson Heights High School. Her marriage to Harold Frey was in Indianapolis on May 7, 1933. Following their marriage the Freys had lived on farms near Romney, near New Richmond, and in Missouri before moving to Overcoat Road about six years ago. Mrs. Frey was a member of the Mace Methodist Church and of the church's WSCS. Survivors, besides her husband and her father, who lives in Elmdale, include four daughters, Mrs. Malcolm McDonald and Mrs. Robert Minkel, both of Pittsboro, Mrs. Gene Culliffer, Paris, Mo., and Miss Donna Frey; a son, Charles; five sisters, Mrs. Daisy Fives, Indianapolis, Mrs. Boyd Rogers, Wingate, Mrs. George Dinwiddie, Osgood, Mrs. Earl Cheek, Winchester, and Mrs. Walter Grantham, Anderson, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Bright Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday and burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Rev. Clyde Pierce, Martinsville, and Rev. George Dinwiddie, Osgood, will conduct services. Friends may call at Bright Funeral Home after noon Wednesday.
