In memorium - Royal Lodge of IO of GT, No 860, regular meeting:

Whereas, Eliza Francis French, born Aug 13, 1860 was a kind and affectionate child to her parents and friends and highly esteemed by all who knew her, died Nov 20th, 1875, aged 15 years 3 months one day.

Whereas Sister French joined the Independent Order of Good Templars in AUgust 1875, as a charter member, where she lived and enjoyed the confidence of the brethren of the order, and commanded the highest esteem as Marshal of this lodge; therefore be it

Resolved that in the death of Sister French, this lodge has lost a faithful and valuable member; the parents a kind, obedient and affectionate daughter; the Sabbath school a faithful and devoted student; and the community a worthy lady and friend; and whilst we deplore the loss of so valuable a member and sister, we mourn not as those who have no hope.

Resolved, that we deeply sympathize with the bereaved parents and relatives in this their loss of a dear daughter and friend; yet, we can but hope that their loss is her eternal gain.

Resolved, that a copy of this preamble and resolutions be forwarded to the family of the deceased; also to the county papers for publication ... Ida Hall; WH Morrison; Mattie Smith; ... committee - kbz
