Mrs. Susan Freeman died Jan 27th at the residence of her son, Jno. Freeman at the age of 79 years 2 months 28 days. The funeral services were held at Wesley Sunday June 24th and were conducted by Rev. Jno M. Stafford assisted by Rev GW Stafford. Mrs. Freeman has ben a residence of this county for 39 years and was one of the most worthy ladies of her community.- kbz

Susan Thomas Freeman died Jan. 27th, 1894. at the residence of her son, .John C. Freeman near Wesley, Ind. She was born Oct. 29, 1814, near Cincinnati. Ohio. She was married to Rev. Luke Freeman September 23rd. 1831. and resided in this county for 59 years, God blessed them with ten children. Her husband died thirty years ago leaving her the care of the family. She leaves two children, eighteen grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Her life was undemonstrative. but she was an earnest, thoughtful Christian. Her home was her world where she ruled with kindness and where her friends were welcome with the heartiest hospitality: especially was the itinerant ministry entertained with the greatest cordiality and consideration. She united with the Methodist church in Ohio under the leadership of Rev. Brosley when she was but a little child and remained faithful during a long life of usefulness and self-denial. Her funeral services were conducted by her pastor. Rev. John M. Stafford, assisted by Rev. George W. Stafiord Sunday, January 28, at the Wesley Methodist Episcopal church and she was laid away by the side of her husband and several of her children.
