Crawfordsville, Ind – LJC Freeman was notified Saturday by the Navy that his son, Marine Lt. John N. Freeman, 31 years old, graduate of Wabash College, had been Killed In Action in the Pacific Theater.

Washington Aug 14 – Names of Indiana war casualties released today by the navy and merchant marine included four dead, 5 missing and 3 wounded. The War Dept listed 49 Indiana men : Marine Lt. John N. Freeman, son of Mrs. Helena J. Freeman of Crawfordsville.
