Waynetown, Oct 24 - John Francis highly respected resident of this vicinity was found dead in a field at his home, a half mile west of Waynetown yesterday. The body was found by a son in the field where Mr. Francis had been working. Death was believed due to heart trouble. The deceased was born March 11, 1855 at St. Joseph, Ill, the son of George and Jane Bartley Francis. On December 27, 1899, he married Miss Savanna Groves. The deceased had lived in this county for many years and was very widely known. He was a member of the Wingate Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, a son Russell; a brother, William Francis of Spokane Wash and one sister, Mrs. Albert J. Utterback of Waynetown. Other surviving near relatives are three brothers-in-law VE Livengood and David and Arnet Groves. The funeral will be held from the home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The services will be in charge of the Rev. ES Connor and burial will be made in the Waynetown Masonic cemetery. - kbz
