So far as this world is concerned death came as a sweet relief Saturday night to Mrs. Jessie Fraley and her spirit winged its flight to its maker. For over a year she had been in declining health, and long before the fatal hour she had prepared her soul to meet its maker. Her parting while it gave sweet pain also gave sweet satisfaction for it was to put off mortality and put on immortality. As a school girl Miss Jessie Swift was a favorite. Every one knew her but to lover her and all will deeply regret that one so young and fair should be removed so soon. She was born June 20, 1869 and will be buried tomorrow at 10 o'clock at Oak Hill. The funeral services will be held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Swift, on east Jefferson street. The father and baby girl have the sympathy of all. - kbz

Mrs. Charles M. Fraley died Saturday night about 12 o'clock at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Swift of East Jefferson Street in the 26th year of her age. She had been suffering from a complication of diseases for some six months and her demise was not unexpected. The funeral occurred from the home of her parents at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Dr. H..A. Tucker officiated. Interment at Oak Hill. Mrs. Fraley's maiden name was Jessie Florence Swift and she was raised in this city, where her unusual gifts of beauty, character and intellect made her a leader and a favorite among her young companions. Her life was gentle and she was endowed with rare grace, being a true Christian. She was married to Charles M. Fraley of Linden four years ago in December and he with an infant child survive her. Her last illness was one of pain and suffering, yet she endured all with Christian fortitude and was ready for her departure. As the end drew near she realized it and bade her friends farewell. The family has the sympathy of all in its sad bereavement. - kbz
