Robert Elliot Fullenwider died at his home E. of town on Thursday evening. He has been very ill for some time and was reported to be dead on Thurs. morning, but this proved to be a sinking spell from which he rallied. The funeral services were held at the Presbyt. Ch. on Sat afternoon, Rev. Thomas G. Pearece preaching the sermon. Mr. Fullenwider was the son of Newton and Mary Fullenwider was born near Waveland on the farm on which he died, May 6, 1853, and went to school at the Waveland Academy. All his life has been spent in this vicinity. He became deeply interested in religion at Browns Valley during a revival held in the Baptist Church in 1873, and united with this Church. The following year he joined the Presbyterian Church at Waveland, remaining in that communion until his death. He took more than an ordinary interest, giving willingly of his time and means.
He was an official member for many years and an elder at the time of his death. He married Miss Cassie Book of Crawfordsville, November 17, 1881. He loved his home and with the cooperation of his devoted wife, he maintained a beautiful Christian home for 25 years. He liked the country and hence spent his entire life on the farm. He was an intelligent farmer and took pride in having everything of the best. He loved his neighbors and friends and was greatly beloved by all who knew him. The community in which he lived was made better by his life, and he will be remembered as a man who went about doing good. Resolutions of the Brownsvalley Horse Thief Detective Association in Memory of Robert E. Fullenwider - At the regular meeting of the above named association, Dec 15 1906 a committe was appointed to prepare and have published the following resolution. Inasmuch as our esteemed brother Robert E. Fullenwider has passed from among us to the Unknown, the BVHTA of which he has been a leading member since its organization, and for the welfare of which he was always solicitous, wish to give expression to the many virtuous chracteristics of this good man, who, with pure unselfishness, was ever devoted to home, true to church and loyal to state. Robert Fullenwider, a wealthy farmer and public spirited citizen of Brown Township who resided a mile west of Browns Valley died Thursday afternoon aged 54 years from a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health for a year. His demise was due more to heart trouble than any other ailment. He leaves a wife, Cassie Book Fullenwider, but no children. He was the son of J. Newton Fullenwider and was born on an adjoining farm to the one on which he died. He was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, being one of th eothers. In politics he was a Republican. In his daily life he was honest and upright in his dealings with men. The funeral will occur at the Presbyterian Church in Waveland Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Waveland Cemetery.
