CHALMERS ELEAZER FULLENWIDER

After only 10 days illness, CE Fullenwider died at Culver Hospital at 5 last night. Mr. Fullenwider has been in fairly good health but was suffering from a slight affliction he hoped to remedy by a surgical operation, but it proved fatal and he passed away. Chalmers Eleazer FULLENWIDER was born in Brown Township Aug 19, 1844, being the son of Eleazer and Lavina Allen Fullenwider. Mr. Fullenwider received his education in the district schools and was graduated from Waveland Academy in 1866. In 1862 he enlisted in the 100 day service, becoming a member of Co. G, 55th Indiana Infantry, in which he served until the following Sept in 1868 he entered the mercantile business in this city. In 1874 he moved to Ky, where he remained for 25 years, returning to this city in 1899 where he opened a real estate and loan office, which he has conducted since. He was a member of Center Presbyterian Church and of Grand Army of the Republic. He was married to Fannie E. SHIPMAN May 12, 1868 and her death occurred in 1909. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive: James C who lives in Summer, Wash; Francis C. of Seattle, Wash and Wesley A. and J. Newton of this city. - kbz

Chalmers Fullenwider, the well known real estate dealer died in Crawfordsville on Monday. He was born in the old house which stood on the spot now occupied by the residence of Henry Fullenwider in 1844. He was the son of Eleazer and Lavina Fullenwider. He attended the Waveland Academy and served with the 55th Indiana Volunteer Infantry during a hundred days enlistment. He engaged in the mercantile business in Crawfordsville but in 1874 removed to KY where he lived for 25 years returning to Crawfordsville in 1899 where he has since lived. -- kbz
