FOXWORTHY, Minnie Shafer

Burial of Mrs. Minnie Foxworthy, 80 was held in the Old Cemetery in Hillsboro Sunday afternoon following the funeral service held at Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home in Crawfordsville at 2 p.m. Sunday April 19.  The Rev. Robert D. Braby officiated. Mrs. Foxworthy formerly resided in Hillsboro but had made her home in Crawfordsville with her daughter Mrs. Flora Bessemer of 706 S Washington Street, Crawfordsville for several years.  She was calling at the home of a neighbor Mrs. Katie L. Britton and suffered a heart attack about 4:30 p.m. Thursday that caused her death. She was born near Alamo on March 28, 1873 the daughter of James and Julia Denman Shafer. In 1891 she was married to William Jackson Foxworthy of Hillsboro and he preceded her in death in 1940. Mrs. Foxworthy was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church.  Surviving besides the daughter Mrs. Bessemer of Crawfordsville are a son Paul Foxworthy of Danville, Ill; one sister, Mrs. William Dolling of Laramie, Wyoming, five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  George Foxworthy of Hillsboro was a brother-in-law of the deceased. – kbz
