Linden, Sept. 18 - Funeral services for John A. Foster, were conducted from the late home at on o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. O. R. Mason, pastor of the Methodist church at Rossville, was in charge. During the service, Mrs. Arthur Fraley and Mrs. Will Smith sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden," and "Beautiful Isle." Pall bearers were Delbert Simmons, Dadley Cummins, George Smith, and Clarence Murphy. Burial was made in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, southwest of Linden.

John A. Foster, 70, well known throughout this community, passed away at his home here at 6 o'clock Friday evening following an illness of two years. Death was due to a complication of diseases. The deceased was born near Clark's Hill Sept. 15, 1868, the son of Peter and Mary McCollough Foster. In 1881 he was married to Mary Clouse. Mr. Foster had lived in this vicinity all of his life, and was a member of the Christian church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Florence Lynch, of Kirkpatrick, Mrs. Kate Norman of Linden, and Mrs. Alice Goble of Crawfordsville, and a foster son, Glenn King, of Lafayette; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the home Sunday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock. Burial will be made at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
