Thomas A. FOLEY better known as Al Foley died in Paris, Ill on Tuesday of last week. He spent the early part of his life in Waveland his parents living in a house that stood on the site of Dr. Noblitt's home. His father ran a carriage & wagon factory, the plant being on the north side of Main St and with a blacksmith shop facing on W. Howard., occupied the west half of the block. Since living in Paris he has been a visitor here and many acquaintances will regret to hear of his death. We are under obligation to JVS Milligan for a copy of the Paris Beacon obituary: Thomas A. FOLEY 82 president of the TA Foley Lumber Co died at 9 o 'clock this morning at his home having been seriously ill since suffering a parlytic stroke several months ago. The deceased was a son of Moses F. and Sarah TALBURT Foley and was born at Greencastle Indiana on May 3, 1857. He was a small child when his parents moved to Waveland Indiana. The family came to Edgar county in 1883 and shortly afterwards the deceased and his father entered the carriage and wagon business. Several years later Mr. Foley established the Foley Lumber Co, manufacturers and wholesalers of hard wood lumber, which is located on S. Jefferson Ave. On Dec 12, 1893, Mr. Foley was married to Miss Jessie Trogdon, daughter of Judge and Mrs A.Y. Trogdon. Six children were born to the marriage, one of whom, Richard died in 1903. Those surviving: Ruth, Springfield, Ill; Ada, Danville; Albert C. of Bloomington, Ind; Philip O of Paris; and Thaddeus, Silver City, NM. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Richard, Thomas A II and Ann Foley of Paris and Phillip S of Bloomington; one sister, Mrs. Grace Henry and 3 brothers, Frank M; Charles T all of Paris and Fred G of St. Marie, Ill. During his young manhood he attended Waveland Academy.
