Mrs. Mattie GARLAND FISHER, 90, died at her home in Waveland Tuesday at 9:40 a.m. She had been in failing health for four years and seriously ill five days. She was born Oct 1, 1866 in Parke County the daughter of Calvin and Martin DEERE Garland. She married John D. FISHER in Rockville in 1929. Mrs. Fisher was a member of the Waveland Presbyterian Church and OES of Beaumont, Tx. She was an active member of the Waveland Department Club. She lived most of her life in Parke and Montgomery Counties. Surviving are a brother, Thomas M. Garland of Waveland; a sister, Mary I. Garland of Beaumont, Tx; two nephews, Lee H. Garland, Rt 7, Crawfordsville and Rev. Loyd Garland of LaGrange, Ga; and two nieces, Mrs. Bernard Clore of near Waveland and Esther Garland of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Funeral services were held at Machledt Funeral Home in Waveland Thursday at 2 with Rev. Hershell R. Sigler officiating. Burial in Waveland Presbyterian Cemetery. - kbz
