WALLACE— Jacob E. Fine, 94, retired Wallace banker, died Monday afternoon at his home in Wallace. He had been ill for four weeks. Born Feb. 14, 1859, near Wallace, Mr. Fine was the son of David and Mary Myers Fine. He married Maria Keller March 17, 1881. The couple were preparing to observe their 72nd wedding anniversary when Mr. Fine was taken ill. Active in church and fraternal affairs, Mr. Fine was a member of the Wallace Lutheran Church, Wallace Masonic Lodge and the Wallace Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, Low Twelve Club and the Cabilistic Club. He also was a charter member of the Eastern Star. Mr. Fine, who was a resident of Wallace 55 years, was engaged in the banking business for 20 years. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Austin Fine, Wallace, and Clarence Fine, Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Flossie Jones, of Crawfordsville, wife of Former Mayor Clark Jones, and a grandson, Richard Fine, in service in Japan. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Frankie Fine, and a son, Earl Leland Fine, who was killed in World War I. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Wallace Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the Wallace Lutheran Cemetery. The body was taken to the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Friends may call at the family home in Wallace after 1 p. m. Tuesday. --typed by Walt W
