Harry N. Fine prominent Crawfordsville attorney and a native of Fountain County died Monday night at his home there after being ill for over a year The son of Dr. EM Fine and Mary Ellen Fine, Mr. Fine was born in Steam Corner, in Fountain County June 1, 1876. On Oct 20, 1898, Mr. Fine was married to Alta M. Griest, daughter of Edwin F. Griest and Mary Miller Greis, of near Garfield. Mr. Fine was always active in the religious and civic affairs of his community. Mr. Fine also held membership in Montgomery Lodge No 50 of the Masonic fraternity; Athens chapter of the OES; Modern Woodmen; Travelers Protective Association and was a life member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He was a past worshipful master of Masonic Lodge and past worthy patron of ES. Mr. Fine had also been an active member of the Quiatenon Club for many years. Mr. Fine is survived by his widow and their daughter, Mary Ellen Black of Chicago. His half brother, Byron F. Myers, preceded him in death as did his sister, Effie Pearl Fine who died in infancy. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bright Funeral Home with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. -- kbz
