WAYNETOWN — Mrs. Maude B. Fine, 88, resident of this community for more than 30 years, died suddenly at 10:45 p.m. Sunday at the home of a grandson, Lester Bell, northeast of here, where she had been visiting. Born June 9, 1879, in Cain Township, Fountain County, she was the daughter of James and Matilda Simpson Blackford. She was married April 14, 1897, to Alva L. Fine, who preceded her in death in 1946. Mrs. Fine was educated in the Cain Township School near Hillsboro. She was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church. She had lived in Waynetown since 1936. Survivors include two sons, Jesse Fine of Crawfordsville and James Raymond Fine of Ladoga; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Bell of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Dorothy Weber of Crawfordsville; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a nephew, and two nieces. Besides the husband, she was preceded in death by another daughter, Mrs. Bessie Schennel, in 1931 and by a half-brother, James Tinsley of Hillsboro. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown, with Rev. Morris Finch, pastor of the Waynetown Christian Church, in charge. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
