James Edward Fetterling, 68, of West Lafayette, was fatally stricken Saturday morning while working at the Lafayette Post Office Annex as a substitute mail carrier. Mr. Fetterling, a graduate of Attica High School, was a retired Perdue University maintenance department employee. He was a member of Hickman Heights Christian Church near Rainsville. He was born at Stuttgart, Ark., June 18, 1906, a son of James and Dora Fetterling. He was married March 2, 1933, to Dorothy Arbritton at Crawfordsville. Surviving are the widow; three sons, J. Edward, Thomas A and F. Dwight, all of Lafayette; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Patton, Mrs. Lewis (Mabel) Perdue and Mrs. Jerry (Martha) Hamilton, all of Lafayette; and 14 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Dale Maus Chapel at Attica with the Rev. George Cripe officiating. Burial will be in Rainsville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
