Lonnie V. FERRELL, 55, a former Browns Valley man was killed Tuesday morning when the truck in which he and Otto Krout, 66 of Alamo also killed were riding collided head-on with another truck a little bit south of the intersection of 43 and the New Market Road. Both were enroute to Ladoga for WPA work. The driver of the other truck escaped serious injury but sustained a few bruises. Mr. Ferrell was born in Pulaski Co, KY Nov 20, 1886, the son of William H. and Martha A. Ferrell. He was a member of the Browns Valley Baptist Church and the Waveland post of the American Legion. His service during the first WW was with cavalry. Surviving are the mother; a sister, Mrs. Ruth McMURRAY of Veedersburg; 5 brothers; Fred, Harry and Willie Ferrell all of New Market; Charles of Rockville and Raymond of Judson. Preceding him in death were the father, a brother and sister. Funeral services for Mr. Ferrell were held this afternoon at the Browns Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Skelton in charge. Burial was made at Liberty Cemetery. - kbz
