James F. Fentress, 76, retired Mace area farmer, died Monday afternoon in Bay Front Medical Center at St. Petersburg, Fla., after a year’s illness. He had been living at 644 Fifieth Ave. South in St. Petersburg with a son, Gene, the last two years. Mr. Fentress lived at Mace in 1946-67, moving to Indianapolis before going to Florida. He was a native of Glen Dean, Ky., and was born Sept. 13, 1893. His wife, Sarah Ida, to whom he was married in 1915, died Dec. 9, 1967. Surviving are two sons, James B. of Coatesvilie and Dr. William Fentress of Omaha, Nebr., besides the son in Florida, and four grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Bright & Burkhart Funeral Home here, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
