Waynetown - Funeral services for Gordon (Sandy) Faulkner, age 59, a former resident, were held Thursday, March 14, in Moore, Kirk and Usher Colonial Chapel, Indianapolis. He died Monday morning, March 11, a traffic fatality. He was struck by an auto near his barber shop in a snow flurry. The driver, Howard Smith, 27, Indianapolis, said Faulkner walked into the side of his car in the morning rush hour. Faulkner's wife, Pauline, who saw the accident, told police her husband noticed he had forgotten to turn off the lights on his car and had started to cross the street to turn them off. Mr. Faulkner was born near Hillsboro. His parents were Dr. A. S. and Jessie C. Sledd Faulkner. The family came to Waynetown and he was graduated from Waynetown High School in 192 after which he became a barber in Indianapolis. Besides his wife, Pauline, he is survives by a sister, Mrs. Kenneth Wilson, Brussels, Belgium, two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Royce.
