Hillsboro - Homer William Faucett, 79, of Hillsboro died Sunday in his home.  Mr. Faucett was a retired farmer, having farmed in the Hillsboro and Waynetown area for more than 36 years.  He was a graduate of Bloomington Ind HS and went on to Indiana University where he was a member of the wrestling team.  He was a bomber pilot in the AIr Force during WWII and Korean War.  He attended the Maranatha Baptist Church at Covington. His memberships included the Eagles of Rockville, American Legion of Waynetown, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Indiana University Alumni Association.  He was born April 12, 1918 in Greene County, Ind to Rudolphus and Ada Anna Hostetter Faucett. He married Georganna Giovanini Feb 19, 1942. She is deceased. Survivors include a son, Dr. Homer W. "Bill Faucett II of Hillsboro; five sisters, Rosemand Holmes of Ellettsville; Jane Wilson of Demott, Ind; Mary Shields of Illinois; Edith Thrasher of Bloomington and Claire McKay of Lake Wawasee; one grandson and one granddaughter. A brother, Laudice Faucett and two sisters, Hazel Soctt and Mabel Freeman are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday in Shoemaker Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Henry C. Stidham officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown masonic Cemetery with military graveside services performed by the Waynetown American Legion. Friends may call 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maranatha Baptist Church of the Elks National Foundation Scholarship Fund.
