Fairfield - Bessie Walden

Mrs. Bessie Elizabeth Fairfield, 76, died suddenly of a heart attack Friday afternoon at the home of a son, Odie, 901 Fairview Ave. She had lived there since her residence at 708 Wallace Ave. burned several months ago. Born June 30, 1888 in Crab Orchard, Ky., she was a daughter of James and Delilah Cummings Walden. She married Charles Fairfield, who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. G. R. Clouse of Highland, and eight sons, Ernest of California and Orville, Walter, William, Charles, Odie, Robert and Raymond, all of Crawfordsville. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fairfield was preceded in death by a son and two daughters. The body is at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home, where arrangements are incomplete. – jlr
