Dr. Clayton Chamberlain Eyler, 84, a practicing dentist in the Crawfordsville area for nearly 60 years, died Wednesday night in Culver Hospital. He was born March 15, 1877, in Waynesborough, Pa. His parents were Adam and Emma Kaufman Eyler. On July 15, 1898, he married Ida Mae Wagner in Baltimore, Md. After practicing dentistry in the East for a few years, Dr. Eyler moved to Crawfordsville, arriving here in 1903. He was graduated from the University of Maryland Dental School in 1898 and practiced dentistry in Hagerstown, Md., before coming here. He was a member of the Elks, Eagles and the VFW Father's Auxiliary. Dr. Eyler had been in the hospital since Jan. 2 of this year. He entered the hsoptial after suffering a fall New Year's Day in his home at 909 W. Wabash Ave. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jack Eyler of Danville, Ill., George Eyler Sr. of Crawfordsville and Clayton C. Eyler Jr. of Hammond; 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Hilton Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday.-- kbz
