Funeral services for Robert Frederick Ewoldt were held Wednesday afternoon in the Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Loveland officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the floral tributes were George McIntyre, David Bagley, James Darnell, Russell Hamm, Dwight Williams and Joe David. Selections were played on the organ by Mrs. O. C. Edwards. Source: obituary in a scrapbook from a collection of Fauniel Hershberger's typed by Walt W Robert Ewoldt, 46, of Indianapolis, a former resident of Crawfordsville and the son of Mrs. Carrie Ewoldt, 823 Milligan St., and the late Claude F. Ewoldt, was found dead in his parked car at 9 a.m. Monday on Dandy Trail in northwest Marion County. Death was attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning. The Marion County sheriff's office reported that a garden hose had been attached to the exhaust pipe of the car and the hose pushed through a window of the car. Volunteer firemen in the area used a resuscitator in a futile attempt to revive him. Mr. Ewoldt was a native of Crawfordsville and a graduate of the Crawfordsville High School. He attended Purdue University and Wabash College. At the time of his death he was employed as a chemist for the Perfection Paint Co. of Indianapolis. He was married Oct. 27, 1932 to Mary Isabelle Misner. Mr. Ewoldt was a member of Trinity Methodist Church here and was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Stephen and Rickey; two daughters Mrs. Janice Bayless and Linda Ewoldt; the mother; and two brothers, John Ewoldt of Kansas City, Mo., and William Ewoldt of Saginaw, Mich. Funeral services are set for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Loveland officiating and burial in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
